Lauryn Hill is in the midst of a 20th anniversary tour of her groundbreaking album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. And last night saw her grace the stage of Harlem’s landmark Apollo Theater in a scene-stealing ensemble. Hill was decked out in a look from Marc Jacobs’s retro-inspired Spring 2018 collection—think, technicolor dress with matching coat and turban, and disco-ready platform shoes.
The singer has often made waves with her radical approach to personal style. Some of her recent fashion triumphs include the elegant renaissance-inspired outfit she wore for the Vogue Arabia launch last April, and the muppet fur and floral mashup by Kenzo she wore to perform at the brand’s Fall 2017 Paris fashion week show. Last night’s look was an example of just how readily Hill embraces fashion with a capital F down to the smallest styling details, in this case eclectic jewelry: mismatched earrings, bold rings, and a simple pendant necklace.
